Synopsis :
La période Edo touche à sa fin. Gabimaru, alias Le Vide, le plus célèbre et puissant des ninjas-assassins d’Iwagakure, croupit en prison et attend sa condamnation à mort. Il apprend pourtant qu’il sera acquitté et libéré s’il peut rapporter un élixir d’immortalité situé sur une île. Dans l’espoir de retrouver sa bien-aimée, Gabimaru s’y rend avec son bourreau, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri. À leur arrivée, ils rencontrent d’autres condamnés à mort recherchant également l’élixir, ainsi qu’une foule de créatures inconnues…
